I truly feel a man wrote this one. The steamy scenes were male centric IMO! Nothing that thrilled me there but the story was interesting.

This book as a decent foundation and I tried to push through making it to about 65%. The writing bounces a lot with paragraph structure/characters being back and forth between talking/thinking in past and present tense within the same page. Plot seems underdeveloped-there’s a solid foundation that I wanted to keep reading for, but couldn’t get past the back and forth. The way Aston would be all in and the doubting/cold feet felt more random and under explained than intentional. I would be interested in reading again with edits. This felt more like a draft-like maybe there’s more here. A gap between the paper and the reader, with a little work it has a lot of potential.

Slow burn… I skipped many pages, started off ok, then it just dragged..the hemming and hawing of the male lead was frustrating. Not sure I will bother with other books in this story arc.

OMG, Yes to swooning/steamy moments, family dynamics, devastating secret that will break everyone and a light at the end of the tunnel. The Cage Family is here and book one starts off with a bang that will leave you wanting more! I loved all the drama and heat that surrounds Blakey and Aston’s romance. I can’t wait for more from this new series that doesn’t disappoint.
