Always the One for Me by Carrie Ann Ryan is book 2 in The Wilder Brothers Series. This was a wonderful and beautifully written second chance romance. Second-chance is often a harder read for me but I loved how CAR wrote this one and we had just enough of the past to keep me intrigued and wanting to know their present story.

Kendall and Evan had a whirlwind romance years ago but now find themselves divorced yet still fighting their love and attraction. Both characters had emotional wounds and situations they were working through, and I loved when Evan came around enough to really communicate with Kendall. I also really adore the relationship between the Wilder brothers and how they support and are there for one another.

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are fantastic narrators and they really bring out the emotions of Evan and Kendall throughout the story.

This story was an emotional rollercoaster, i laughed cried and yelled. Evan and Kendall broke my heart. They are so good together yet could not figure out how to talk to each other. They were able to communicate with their bodies but words appear to fail them both. Once Evan made a decision that he needed to open up then the words flowed so much easier. Kendall wants to do everything on her own that she almost missed the opportunity to be part of something great. She was already a Wilder, she just needed to believe. So good!!! Don't miss this story.

What a journey Evan and Kendall took to find there way back to each other. Their story was so emotional with ups and downs that made the story so entertaining to read. I’ve enjoyed the Wilder brothers series and I think I’m going to like the next book the best. I have a soft spot for Everett. Until next time y’all happy reading.

PTSD, brain trauma from concussions, lost limbs these afflictions and more affect our veterans. Not only them though it also affects their families especially the wives. Kendall would have liked to stand with Evan but he didn’t give her the chance. This tale is filled with so many emotions. I was brought to tears by their stubbornness then tickled by Evan’s unexpected romantic quips. Kendall is a strong personality. She’s tried to get over Evan and has, mostly, she thinks. Besides their personal struggle an outside force keeps attacking the resort keeping them off balance. Can their smoking chemistry overcome the guilt and anger? Their HEA is hard fought and heartfelt.

Evan is broody and yummy. Kendall has a wonderful kind spirit. These two souls clash and it is instant chemistry.

We finally find out the reason behind Evan and Kendall’s divorce, and it honestly wasn’t what I expected. In fact, I think it made me sadder than the ideas I already had floating around in my head.
No, I’m not revealing what the issues were…but I think the more important part of the story is how these two broken-hearted former lovers try to rebuild their lives. Evan needs to push past his guilt and anger while Kendall must find forgiveness and understanding for them both. There are a lot of tears but ultimately love conquers all.
While most of this book is about our main couple, there’s more going on in regards to other family members and those nasty Dodge men. Another brother embarks on a relationship, and we see glimpses of him and his lady…but it’s yet another Wilder brother who’s story is told in the next book. I’m loving these brothers and cannot wait to watch the rest of them fall in love!
