    This is book one in The Simply series and it features Kayla Luck and Kane McDermott. She’s sensible and very beautiful but doesn’t know it. He’s big and sexy but the amount of baggage he  carries from his past, won’t let him lead any normal kind of life. She took over the family business after her aunt passed away. She never thought anything shady could be connected to it until Detective Kane McDermott walked in. Their chemistry was instantaneous! There’s a lot of push and pull from Kane that, in my opinion, drug on too long. 

    The story line is good.  The characters are fantastic!   Overall this book was enjoyable to read.  Looking forward to book 2.

    Simply Sinful was an earlier released book by Carly Phillips. The story centered on Detective Kane and Kayla Luck owner of Charmed!. Kane first visits Kayla’s business as part of an undercover operation to see if she was running a prostitution ring out of her business. After confirming that Kayla has nothing to do with prostitution Kane finds himself stay in her life when she is attacked. Determined to keep her safe and find the man responsible Kane and Kayla get closer than either had planned and find that despite their rocky start they have something special between them.

    Simply simple is book one in the re-written Simply series by Carly Phillips which has been updated and released.

    Kayla takes over the “Charmed” etiquette school/business her late aunt and uncle were running before their untimely death. When Kane, an undercover cop shows up for classes, sparks fly between them ! Kane is investigating a prostitution ring that the police believe was being run from the business… Upon further investigation Kane believes that Kayla has no idea about it but is now in danger and he is determined to keep her safe and discover who is behind the ring…

    Mystery, suspense, chemistry, laughter, kidnapping, a quick read and looking forward to the other books in this series!

    This was a good start to a “new” series. Kyle was the first man to look beyond Kayla’s physical appearance and see her for the intelligent, thoughtful person that she was. Kayla was the first woman to get under Kyle’s skin. A great beginning for another “new” series from Ms Phillips.

    I love Kayla Luck. She is a strong female who can hold her own. Yes, she has feelings and gets scared/nervous, but all in all she is one strong cookie. She stands up for what she believes in and fights for what is right and does not let anyone walk all over her.

    Kane is a cop with a mission. And whether she likes it or not, Kayla needs to do as he says. Yeah, right. Unfortunately, Kane is falling for the person he is supposed to be protecting. It started as a job and ended up being personal. Now he needs to turn off his emotions and leave her before she interferes with his job and his safety and the safety of those who depend on him.

    Neither Kane nor Kayla have much family. Both lost their parents at a young age. Neither has allowed themselves to get involved in a relationships. They are both all about business. Well things are going to change for each of them. Question is, will they recognize the changes? And, how will they react to the changes?

    Kayla Luck is built like a blonde bombshell who everyone underestimates and when in fact she is smart and savvy business women who ends up taking over her family’s etiquette business. When there is a tip to the police department that the etiquette company is a front for a prostitution ring, Detective Kane McDermott is sent to investigate and be undercover. After setting up a “date”, and getting to know each other Kane realizes that Kayla wouldn’t and doesn’t run a prostitution ring. But they really hit it off and when Kayla comes in to danger Kane is called. Can they learn to trust each other. This was a great read and I could not put it down for the second time. Carly Phillips never disappoints.
