Heartwarming and swoony romance
By Tammy_M_NC
I really enjoyed Gavin and Sloane (and Bree)’s anti-nanny, single dad, boss-employee grump-sunshine small town romance of all the things. The story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. Gavin and Sloane are portrayed as real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really trying to just do their best as messy humans. Sloane is a romance writer suffering from writers block who needs money for a trip to Greece to find her inspiration. Gavin is a restaurant manager and the guardian for his 13 year old sister, Bree. Gavin and Sloane are acquaintances. When Gavin’s regular babysitter has a family emergency, a mutual friend voluntells Sloane to be the temporary anti-nanny. Thus begins the journey of relationship averse Gavin and Sloane to their ultimate HEA which includes finding love and their individual paths mixed in with large doses of c’mere, c’mere, get away, get away. I loved that Bree was a wonderful and integral addition to the story rather than a flimsy story prop. Her interactions with both Gavin and Sloane helped advance the story as well as encourage their character growth. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as shown in sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, secrets, big feels, and all the love. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
