    This book is not for the faint of heart. It starts off with the reader clutching their pearls and that feeling doesn’t stop until the end. It’s a true page turner. I loved every minute of this thrilling story. Also, I’m so glad I have a normal, boring life.

    A lot of the characters thoughts, feelings and actions were continually expressed. I felt it was unnecessary. And therefore made the book drag on…I didn’t finish it. Highly disappointed. Predictable ending…I scrolled to the end and partially read last couple chapters.

    I really enjoyed this book. But I could not give it 5 stars for 3 very specific reasons…

    This was a book that was a little harder for me read because it contains every trigger warning… for pretty much any awful thing you can imagine like: violent rape, sexual assault, suicide, graphic violence, murder, torture, and at times I honestly wasn’t sure if I could stomach any more of it.

    But I was captivated by the writing and I couldn’t stop reading this book. I already had an idea of how it was going to end by half way thru it. But I needed to keep reading it. I finished the book in 5 days.

    The story follows two sisters Claire and Lydia who haven’t spoken in years, but when Claire’s husband is murdered, their horrible past comes back to them.

    It is an edge-of-your-seat thriller from page 100 till the end. And by the ending I was so heartbroken for Sam. His POV was my favorite.

    I loved the 3 different POVs. I love reading books written like this. It was written really well.

    But the reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is because I just really wish we could have had Anna’s POV, Paul’s POV and most of all I really wish the book would have ended with Julia’s POV. I think knowing how those 3 specific characters were feeling would have been the perfect addition to this crazy story.

    This book DRAGGED on, and was extremely boring and had no real twists or turns or surprises and not only that but certain graphic scenes were repeated over and over and sickening. Wouldn’t recommend as a piece of writing or for anyone with kids

    I love a good plot twist in a book. However, the plot twists in this book were horrific and disturbing. I had to skip some parts just so get to the end. I needed to know how and the why. Overall it was alright but too much for me.

    I can’t even put trigger warnings without spoilers. There is some really brutal subject matter. Hard-core, it’s not for everyone.

    Compelling, twisted and really dark. Karin Slaughter is one of my favorite authors, so much so I have been bingeing Will Trent from the beginning.

    However, this one has taken me a while to get through.
