  • This was hard to read, painful slmost

    This author is clearly not American and didn’t even attempt to research how people speak in Montana. It’s pretty hard to suspend your disbelief about a story when the characters use British slang in a rural Montana town. Literally so annoying, I kept finding myself editing it into a more appropriate voice. Piss poor editing by the publisher.

    But honestly, it wasn’t hot. It wasn’t sexy. The characters repeat themselves endlessly, the dialogue is stilted and it’s just not a believable premise that these two people with no discernible chemistry get so involved so quickly. This author is not very good. Skip it and read Lisa Kleypas instead.

    I loved, loved, loved this book from start to finish it had me intrigued, I couldn’t put it down. This is a definite must read. It is a five star for me. Kate Hardy I love your books.

    Rachel, as a doctor is a smart cookie; as a woman, she's brokenhearted. For a birthday gift, her friends "buy" her a bachelor at a fundraiser auction. The prize--Ryan, a gourmet chef extraordinaire. And, his gift ends with an unexpected "extra" dessert. Suddenly, they're friends with benefits. The problem with that is sometimes the heart wants more than the other will give based on life's other obligations. Neither is good with interpersonal relationships--trust issues galore. But, Ryan finds a way back into Rachel's heart, and together, they find a way to balance life, and love.

    What are a girls best friends for if not to bid on, and win, a bachelor date for her birthday? That's what Rachel's friends did and now she is enjoying dinner with local and Paris trained chef Ryan, who is cooking in her kitchen.

    This is a sweet story of two people who are not looking for love. Nope, not going to happen, both have been hurt, not looking. Yet, love lands at their feet anyway. And when they split up, Ryan uses his amazing skills as a pastry chef to create one of a kind desserts to win back Rachel's heart. How could a girl resist that?

    Loved this book.

  • Food and Romance, so Yummy!

    Here comes Bachelor #2, Ryan, a chef, who is bought as a birthday gift from a group of women, for the new Doctor in town, Rachel Cassidy. For their date Ryan prepares a dinner for Rachel. So yummy! Both are cming off previous bad relationships and not looking for for love. Ryan gives Rachel much more than food though.

    Who doesn't love food and love. I am a sucker for it and loved it. All those wonderful sweets that Ryan prepared to win over Rachel, put five pounds on me, by just reading.

    Loved this story, along with the other Bachelor Auction books. They are all stand alone books, but highly recommend that you read them all.

  • A little to quick, but delicious

    I would give this story 3 1/2 stars.

    I had a really hard time with the beginning of Bachelor at Her Bidding. Ryan and Rachel's relationship just moved way to quick for me. I did really enjoy the ending of Ryan winning Rachel back by cakes and chocolate slade's with messages. The desserts just sounded sinful.
