Description

A steamy billionaire romance written USA Today Bestselling Author, K.L. Middleton.

Sinclair Jeffries thought she knew what she was getting into when her zany, gay friend, Jesse Eddington, talked her into portraying his girlfriend during his parent's anniversary party on Huntington Beach. That is, until she met Reed, Jesse's sexy as hell older brother, and ends up getting much more than what she'd bargained for.

Reed Eddington assumed his future was settled until he met Sinclair, his brother's so-called "girlfriend", but the raw, sexual tension between them is hard to ignore. As he watches their ruse from the sidelines, he finds himself wanting to uncover more than just their amusing little facade.

The story was wonderful. Had suspense, humor, and a loving ending.
Plus a wondering with the last chapter!

It’s hard to find the words to describe this book. It was simple, but with an added excitement element of a sociopathic stalker to give it more depth than your typical boy meets girl romance. I may have liked this book more if it had been executed better, however, I feel it was a lot of build up to have such a rushed ending and no second book to keep the story progressing. I definitely didn’t love this book, but it’s certainly not the worst. At least it’s free...

I really try to keep an open mind with every book I read. But I hate feeling misled. The synopsis I saw made me believe this would be a light, romcom like, contemporary romance. Yet as soon as you start reading, you're thrown into suspense?!? Say what now? Had this been a hard copy book, I would have flipped to the back cover to re-read this synopsis. I plowed my way thru anyway.

    It wasn't particularly funny.
    The suspense wasn't terribly suspenseful.
And the romance made me yawn.

I will attempt to read another title from this author but as an intro to her writing, this read more like a first time, self published work than from someone who has won awards.

  • 😤 Very unsatisfying.

I'm not sure if this book was just a preview or not but it seemed cut short. Also there is an entire character with his own chapters whose story was unmentioned in the summary making his parts a confusing read. The writing was good but the storyline and characters are all over the place.

It was good but felt there was more to be told, was disappointed there was not a sequel regarding the couple.

This was an interesting story and I liked the little creepy twist with the pastor. I wanted more and did not stop reading once I began. Good characters and good storyline.

  • Cut Short 😞

I was excited to read this book, although I didn't like that the hero was technically engaged for a lot of the book. There was a lot of anticipation for certain things to come about but there wasn't the expected, satisfying climax. There are so many things that have been left unresolved & this isn't a saga so it's not like you continue to another book to find out.

In the end the couple's "relationship" wasn't even really the focus, there was a lot going on. This book just felt unfinished.
