Description

RITA® Award-winning author Sarah MacLean reveals the identity of The Fallen Angel's final scoundrel in the spectacular conclusion to her New York Times bestselling Rules of Scoundrels series . . .

By day, she is Lady Georgiana, sister to a duke, ruined before her first season in the worst kind of scandal. But the truth is far more shocking—in London's darkest corners, she is Chase, the mysterious, unknown founder of the city's most legendary gaming hell. For years, her double identity has gone undiscovered . . . until now.

Brilliant, driven, handsome-as-sin Duncan West is intrigued by the beautiful, ruined woman who is somehow connected to a world of darkness and sin. He knows she is more than she seems, and he vows to uncover all of Georgiana's secrets, laying bare her past, threatening her present, and risking all she holds dear . . . including her heart.

  • Scoundrel surprise

Enjoyed immensely how Chase was revealed and the problems she was facing relevant to that era. At times, the plot seemed long and drawn out. I was also annoyed that each time West & Chase got intimate and close, he walks off and cuts the tie until they both can’t resist the connection again. That got old after couple repeats.
But I loved the way all the previous characters are interwoven and given places in Chase’s love story. I suspected Chase was a girl by the 3rd series but was totally surprised that Anna was Georgiana. Did not see that coming even when I wondered why Anna was important in every book.
Sad to see the Scoundrels and their unique wives leave but it’s heartwarming that they all live happily ever after!

I love all of the older stories she’s written, but this one is one of my least favorites. Duncan was annoying to me. Their love comes across shallow as well.
  • Good story, way too long

I enjoyed the secrets and intrigue in this story as well as the characters. The ending especially did not disappoint and the underlying Greek mythology theme was a nice addition. However, this book really needed a good edit, it dragged pretty badly. This author has a very florid writing style which usually works well for the genre, but in this book versus the others, it just felt like way too much. Too much angst and too many long drawn out moments. That combined with the constant emotional flip flopping every single moment from both characters, but especially Dustin, made this a bit more of a frustrating read.

This is one terrific romance. I adore the heroine. And the hero! Sexy+appreciates strong working women+sexy+softhearted+sexy. Oh, and he’s great with kids. He probably rescues puppies on his off-days, even though that’s not in the book. This series goes out with a crescendo.
  • Love the world building

Beautifully crafted as always. Although my favorite part of this book is seeing the return of so many of my favorite characters! I absolutely loved to see them all interact and get glimpses into how they’re doing!

Loved every minute of this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I would think about it at work- very distracting. So sad that the series has ended but worth every moment. Do yourself a favor and read about these Scoundrels from the beginning.

The last two books of the series were not as good. I was disappointed Chase was a women. It was very repetitive and the story not very convincing.
