Home in a Glass Bottle

When I began this book, I brought out the skeletons of my travel journals and dug through old photos. I tried to tell stories, and then I realized that these were not just stories, they had become pieces of who I am. These moments are not just things that happened, they are funny, sad, thoughtful events that reached inside my chest and changed the shape of my heart. This collection is not meant to tell stories. It is meant to grab you by your insides and twist them around until they are different. Not better or worse, but different – bigger, with more room, so you can begin to fit the world inside you. This is a collection of word art. There are prose style poems and free verse poems ranging from one sentence to multiple pages, and I’m using words to paint people and present pictures. With these words, I give the gift of Wanderlust.
