En 1964, Recherches sociographiques consacra un numéro thématique à l’émigration des Canadiens français aux États-Unis. Bien qu’il ne compte que trois textes, ce numéro est très important, car il marque d’une pierre blanche l’étude de l’exode massif des Canadiens français vers la république du Sud entre 1840 et 1930. Soixante ans plus tard, il a semblé opportun à Danielle Gauvreau et moi-même de souligner cet anniversaire.
