Le principe d'intangibilité des frontières a été adopté par les chefs d'État africains en 1964, au moment des indépendances. Depuis, les États se sont appropriés cet héritage d'une période coloniale. Il est donc temps d'en finir avec le mythe de cicatrices coloniales, tracés artificiels qui seraient responsables des conflits actuels et du mal-développement. Les frontières d'Afrique sont bel et bien devenues des frontières africaines. Et quoique parfois encore imprécises ou sources d'insécurité, elles fonctionnent néanmoins comme une ressource et comme autant d'interfaces utilisées par les réseaux marchands, acteurs d'une mondialisation par le bas.
