I find it interesting that the problems and worries of men in the early twentieth century are so similar to those of men in early twenty first century. The author is describing what little effort there is in waking up early when there is such a thing as an oil lamp, just the strike of a match is all the effort needed. He sees life just as simple as we see it it today with just a flick of a switch we have light, we have come so far since the authors day yet so much has not changed. I read this book in roughly an hour, it is well written, clearly understood and still relevant to us today.
