I've been to ER many times because of my grandmothers health condition. I was always curious about what the doctors and nurses were talking about, using words like "BP' and "EKG". The procedures Dr. Handal discribes are very helpful and un-nerving.

As a family man, I have been to emergency rooms (ER) on many occasions. Between myself, wife, and children I bet I have been in the ER at least twenty times. I wish I had read the book, " Doc's ER Guide" before my first visit. The practical advice Doctor Handal gives about being your own advocate, or having an advocate is invaluable. Also, her explanation of procedures, and deciphering medical jargon that is used in the ER can be very useful. To a lay person, "Doc's ER Guide" is a must read.
