Brad Taylor pens an exceptional narrative in the inaugural book of this series. Having authored two supplementary novellas, "The Call Sign" which initiates the series and "The Dig" designated as book 1.5, which I plan to read subsequently. Within this installment, the protagonist Pike Logan leads a clandestine team that responds directly to the President, tasked with combating terrorism. Logan's affinity for action precipitates his prolonged absences from family during missions, but an unforeseen incident occurs at home during his final mission. Following this event, Logan becomes reclusive, residing on a sailboat he is unfamiliar with navigating. Upon encountering a woman embroiled in trouble courtesy of her uncle, Logan assumes the role of a reluctant hero, leveraging his expertise to safeguard both himself and the woman. As he becomes increasingly entangled, Logan uncovers a terrorist plot while concurrently being pursued by mercenaries hired by a politician. This book is characterized by incessant action and intrigue, rendering it an outstanding read that I wholeheartedly recommend.

If you are looking for a new series after reading Flynn’s Mitch Rapp series or Thor’s Harvath series this is not the writer. Very disappointing read.

Got started reading Jack Carr but then got introduced to Brad Taylor. Pike Logan would smack James Reese. Obviously joking, but all in all absolute home run. Im hooked.
