This book is absolutely phenomenal! The dynamic between Sebastian and Evie was perfection. It was witty, sweet, steamy, and had a little bit of mystery in it. Perfection.

Lisa Kleypas does a great job in her earlier novels. Sebastian and Evie are an interesting and dynamic hero and heroine! I’ve read more times than I can count!

This is my favorite Lisa Kleypas novel, and I think I’ve missed maybe 1. Sebastian is my favorite hero, he so obviously needs someone like Evie who is strong enough to love him, and not give up on him. Absolutely wonderful; the plot is so intriguing, and the intimacy between the characters is even more moving than all the other wallflowers books. Read it… you won’t be sorry!

This is one of my favorite historical romances. Evie is the most strong-willed character who comes from such a bad home situation. She refuses to break and that backbone is what helps her to face Sebastian’s snarky personality.

Sebastian is really the villain from book 2 so it picks up right after those events. He’s very cold and lashes out easily. But Evie never backs down. He really grew and I fall in love with them each time I read this book. To see him soften up and care about her makes me swoon.

“You’re my wife… My better half… My prize…my pleasure and pain…my endless desire. I’ve never known anyone like you, Evie.”
