Carsten Jensen est né en 1952 à Marstal (Danemark). Ancien journaliste, il est aujourd’hui considéré comme l’un des plus grands auteurs danois contemporains par sa voix et son style inimitables. Il fut porté par l’incroyable succès critique et public de son premier roman traduit en français, Nous, les noyés, véritable best-seller, salué par le prestigieux Danske Banks Litteraturpris et traduit dans vingt pays – dont la France (Libella / Maren Sell, 2010 – Prix Gens de mer au Festival Étonnants Voyageurs).Prix Olof Palme en 2010, Carsten Jensen est désormais traduit dans plus d’une vingtaine de pays. La Première pierre, publié à l’automne 2015, vient de paraître en Suède et en Allemagne. Il est en cours de traduction dans une quinzaine de langues. Les droits d’adaptation cinématographiques ont été acquis par les producteurs de la trilogie Millenium de Stieg Larsson.
