    Laila has been at the mercy of the ruthless cartel for years. When she finally escapes, she thinks things will be better but the safe house she and her sister are using is discovered. Trees, from EM security, takes on the role of bodyguard for Laila. But she trusts no man. Trees is very attracted to her and is determined to protect her. As they run from danger, Laila begins to see a different type of man than she is used to and Tress is determined to keep her safe. But the cartel isn’t giving up, Laila refuses to believe any man can be depended on and Trees is also having trouble with a suspected mole at EM security. Non-stop adventure, tons of heat and excellent character development. Laila’s past does make her take some foolish risks and Trees is pushed to his limits to try and protect her. Lots of tension and danger and tons of heat!

  • Captivating story

    Captivating characters and an equally captivating storyline made this a book which I enjoyed reading. It was a very memorable read as well. The scenes were sizzling with chemistry. I loved it.

  • Great Start to Their Story

    It's been a minute since I've read a book by Shayla Black, but I jumped right in to WICKED AS SEDUCTION: TREES & LAILA PART 1 without realizing that theirs is a story that has been building as part of the backstory in prior books in the Wicked & Devoted series. Even so, I had no trouble reading this solely as the first part of their complicated, steamy, thrill-packed story, and can't wait to see what's next.

    It was nice to see such a spitfire of a heroine in Laila, one that kept Trees on his toes and then some. I'm really hoping that Part Two of their story continues in the same vein, because it really did add something. I mean, it's nice to have a (sometimes) gentle giant around to save the day, but where's the fun if there's no spark?

    If romantic suspense with an, ahem, dominant side is your bag, this is definitely the book for you. I would suggest starting with the first books and working your way through, but, as said, if you just want Laila and Trees, this book can be read as a standalone, and as the first part of a two-book package. Shayla seals the deal with a cliffy that will definitely have you (and me!) coming back for more, and Part 2 can't get here quickly enough. ❤️

    OMGEE!!! This book had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole way through, I love how strong Laila is and how Trees protects yet adores her. This book has you guessing with so many twist and turns and again, it is amazing how Shayla Black is able to make us love characters and yet who how human they are and make us angry at them. I cannot wait for the second half of this couple!

  • As expertly written as any other Shayla Black novel

    Who could be afraid of a big, dominant, teddy bear of a man so tall his nickname is Trees? A tiny woman whose only experience of men has been of assault, humiliation, and pain. If you take it it a step further and that enormous man is very obviously attracted to her, what other response could one reasonably expect than that tiny woman doing everything she can to escape her savior? I loved the contrast between the tiny spitfire of a woman and the firm, but gentle giant of a man. This is one combustible couple in more ways than one. Trees has an uphill battle to fight to get the girl of his dreams in this page-turner with a cliff-hanger ending. I will be on the edge of my seat awaiting the sequel for this novel, which was as expertly written as any other Shayla Black book. I strongly suggest that you read the books written in this series prioR to this in order to completely follow all the puzzle pieces we have been fed leading up to this and the subsequent stories. If you are a fan of the author, you will not be sorry that you chosen this story to read next!.     Well, that was a super roller coaster ride! Laila has a difficult time in trusting and believing, rightfully so. Trees tries to resist her, but his heart can’t be denied. This is a cliffhanger. It leaves your heart pounding at the end! Can’t wait until April!
