The first book in this duo is okay, but the second book had the potential to be great. Yet, the second book was shorter and more rushed than the first book. It was like the author wrote them almost as one book with a majority of the focus on the first set of characters. Also, a lot of loose strings surrounding the characters lives are never tied up in both books.
Decent books, definitely only get them if they are free.
