Super good storyline. Thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
  • Take a cruise into suspense with Mary Higgins Clark!

    By ES the horror fan
I’m so amazed at the negative reviews for this book! I read it as a paperback, of course, and, while it’s not her best book, I really enjoyed taking this suspenseful cruise with Mary Higgins Clark! It’s the first book I’ve read that featured such involvement from her famous husband-and-wife team of sleuths, Alvirah and Willy. I liked this charming couple more than I thought I would, but the story’s main female character was the real attraction for me. An intriguing, unpredictable mystery from the Queen of Suspense!
  • A Scooby-Doo-like story

This was one big mystery cliché, from the presence of a butler to the actual yanking of a wig and beard a la Scooby-Doo. I felt like I was reading a novel written for a teenager.
  • Excess kills

    By Writekid
Too many characters and a quick ending that does not clear the plot up in a satisfying way. So what could have been a good book comes up short in the end. For example -- your wife tries to kill you by pushing you off a cruse ship into the ocean and it's all right in the end?
  • All by myself, alone

This is the first time I have been disappointed in a MHC book- I read it in one afternoon - and I just didn't like it. This might be because I had just finished Zoo Keeper's Wife which is really well written - but Mary Higgins Clark failed on this one. I was looking forward to a quick light read - this was that, and pretty stupid to boot!
