Short definition of "trophyitis": "EVERYONE gets a trophy - win, lose or draw." If young folks put on a uniform of any kind, they receive a trophy! I submit to you there is a danger in doing so. It deters recipients from developing the skills and resources to figure out how to effectively resolve issues that come in later life - and they WILL come!
This book has been written for millennials, parents, parents-to-be, grandparents, or just about anyone curious enough to delve into the reason for the title! My goal is to call attention to the dangers of developing a generation that expects immediate gratification and demands the right of entitlement. Maybe, just maybe, not everyone deserves a trophy because he or she is a participant.
