Knox and Briar first meet while he’s an inmate at the prison where she’s a volunteer nurse, a reluctant volunteer at that, but from the moment they meet they both know there is something forbidden between them. When Knox is given early parole he’s determined to forget about the beautiful but uptight nurse from Devil’s Rock, too bad he can’t. Briar knows that her attraction to Knox is something that she has to fight, if for no other reason than its intensity scares her and she’s vowed to move beyond a life of fear. After a chance encounter their chemistry explodes in a way neither one expected…or can say no to. Knox knows he’s not what Briar needs or deserves but she what he needs.
