The detail on the day to day lives of the characters really weaves a rich tapestry of the era. Interesting story, beautifully told. Well worth the read.

Not my usual genre of reading but this sucked me in and wouldn't let me out. Great characters and a lot of fun to read. Now I have to find a way back to Venice.

An excellent historical fiction novel highly researched for the rich narrative. The story is dramatic, romantic, sometimes vicious and never dull. I highly recommend it.

The reader will be compelled to "revisit Venice". You'll feel as though you know the canals, San Marco, and the Doge before you arrive. All of Venice comes alive in this colorfully portrayed work.
