Description

The second work of the Tarzan series, "The Return of Tarzan" follows the Lord of the Jungle from one continent to the next as he goes from America to Europe to Africa, encountering personalities of varying morality. Tarzan becomes entangled with Russian spies and French counts, blackmail and murder, kidnapping and intrigue, all the while in love with Jane Porter, who is engaged to marry another man.

I love this book. I have been a Tarzan fan most of my life. Acquiring the book , Tarzan of the Apes , at an 8th grade book fair in 1980. Every several years I reread all 24 of the Tarzan books by ERB. I love the many adventures in “ The return of Tarzan”. It definitely keeps one interested throughout the entire novel.

A great fantasy adventure...this is not the childish Tarzan we all see in the movies, but a dashing tale of romance, savagery, and the beauty and terror of what it is to be human.

After 75 years of life I have just finished reading Tarzan of The Apes & Return of Tarzan. I stand in awe of the remarkable talent of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The motion pictures of Tarzan were fabulous to my youth, but cannot equal Mr Burroughs writing

I read the first book (Tarzan of the apes) during dead week/finals week to get my mind off of studying. It was a great story but I was really upset to find it was in a series! But these two book were amazing and had a great ending. It's an adventure/romance book without the sex. I would recommend this book to just about anyone.
