Started out very good but about half way through it became more and more difficult to read The fictitious portions were not believable and ruined the book

At last a wonderful account of Russians through one woman and how much we misunderstand them.

This is good historical fiction based on a real life person. The ending, though fictional, was well done and exciting. I’ve been reading up on this Mila and I find her fascinating. I remember reading City of Thieves, she is mentioned in that book. I was so surprised to find that she was a real person.

Awesome book! Based mostly on historical events that were very interesting with just enough fiction thrown in to make the story flow. Very well written and an entertaining and interesting read!

She is brilliant the author of this any piece of writing that has to do with history is amazing by her. I couldn’t put it down!

I finished the book because I wanted to know how it ended. But, unlike the other books I’ve read by this author, it didn’t hold my attention very well. I found many of her descriptions to be verbose, and some were repetitive. I’m glad I read it, but I cannot recommend it.

An engrossing historical novel that brings to life a WWII hero that I had never heard of before. Fascinating.
