The Apothecary Diaries is the best! So fun to follow Maomao and Jinshi-sama on their adventures!

Both Myne (Ascendance oof a Bookworm) and Maomao are very focused on their passions, books and herbs, respectively, and aware but indifferent to looks and charms of the heroes. The greatest loyalty and love to who they considered family, a sense of justice, and a very critical eye to society and peoples foibles. There a moments in both when I laughed so hard it hurt. In this novel, the discussion regarding the close examination of a near naked ‘knight” and the totally misunderstood reasoning by the hero with his attendant’s Buddhist attitude was precious.
