The bright, white space is filled to the brim with colorful art, yarn, jewelry, pet treats, antiques and even a few medieval weapons. Oh, and there are wine tastings. Everything is better with wine. Ainsley is surprised by how well things are going–right up until the moment her Great Dane finds a dead body. With her friend accused of the murder, it’s up to Ainsley to find the real killer.

As the suspect list grows longer, Ainsley has her work cut out for her. The task is made more difficult by the fact her brother, the sheriff, doesn’t seem to want her help. If she doesn’t wrap up the case soon, she might be the next wine, um, one to die.

    As far as mysteries go, this book was definitely on the lower end of the scale. There were multiple love interests between the protagonist, making it a confusing love triangle. In addition, there were not many clues or insight on the ages of any of the characters, whether they were 20 or 80. Another problem I had with this book was the “big reveal.” I would say the suspense was anticlimactic, but for something to be anticlimactic there had to at least be good suspense, in which there was not.

    Ainsley’s thoughts fleshed out the character and makes it totally real. I enjoyed way the plot was laid out. I am definitely getting the next book.

    What a fabulous series starter! I loved the small town setting, all the quirky townsfolk who can’t help but butt into each other’s business and I especially loved Ainsley who has a heart of gold! She is definitely someone who I’d want as my bff and she’s such a relatable down to earth character. I loved her inner monologues and her determination in the face of an over protective older brother and multiple warnings from the perp to back off. But she’s not going to let any off that stop her because she made a promise to her bff to help.
    The plot was intriguing, the suspects confounding and the world building fantastic. This book is engaging , fun and laugh out loud funny! I was hooked from page one and cannot wait to read book 2!.

    What a joy this book was. Super easy read. Smart but not pretentious. Fun and plays on Texan stereotypes without being mean or over the top. I really enjoyed this. Ainsley is a great heroine and I can’t wait to see where her nosiness takes her.
