4.5 stars - this one has me reeling. Truly an emotional roller coaster that I felt in every part of my heart. An incredibly well written story with such vivid details. The author beautifully spins the tale of a woman deep in the thralls of grief and depression intertwined with the human impact on the environment. This book challenged me to feel so many different things and was consistently thought provoking - an attribute in writing I very seldomly find in a fiction novel. Heart wrenching in all the right ways. I’ll be thinking about this one for quite some time.

The book dragged a bit and I guess found family isn’t something that resonates with me but overall the plot was predictable and the character development wasn’t the best. I was told this book was sadder than the song of achilles. Definitely not true!!

This book has been by far one of the best I’ve read. I came upon this authors latest publication that was released in 2022 and I fell was enraptured and immersed in her prose, her poetic and profound expressionism and her deep passion and love for all living beings. She’s given me back so much of the hope I’d felt coming undone after Covid, Trump and Ukraine that I was weary in my bones and restlessly wishing it back. Thank you, Charlotte for given my such gratitude and hope and purpose once again.
