The Diary of Anne Frank (The Definitive Edition)

Phenominal book she had so much hope for such horrific conditions. She spoke with such brilliant articulation for a girl her age. What ends up happening to her is truly tragic but her text and dream will always live on because of her diary and she has become an icon of what was lost in the tragedy of the holocaust. I actually felt like ‘kitty’ I felt like I was her friend that was confiding to me and she told me everything with such truth and great detail. She even reminds me so much of my relationship with my parents and it actually made me ponder over my life and her outlook on hers. Even with the pressure cooker of stress she still laughed and brought joy, she had the strength to cry and vent and had the hope for a future where she could go out side, meet her friends, and become an author. I was also amazed by her transition between how she idolized her father to viewing herself as independent her letter of declaration towards her father is very powerful and I relate to it a lot. Its such a pivotal time in her life the transition from adolsence to teenage and adult years and she articulated her experiences so well with rawunfiltered perspective.

“An empty day, though clear and bright,Is just as dark as any night.”

Well written by a smart and articulate teenager who didn’t deserve to be hated and be murdered the way she did. Her impeccable storytelling takes you into the hiding during the war in a way that is both imaginative and realistic. A must read.

How many great minds were lost. We might have lost 6 million humans but the knowledge and wisdom lost is impossible quantify.

The reason I gave a 4 out of 5 is NOT because of the content but rather the sloppy typos and formatting errors within the digital book. Otherwise, worth every page.

Why on earth are there typos and grammatical errors on nearly every page? Should have borrowed a real book from the library.

The story itself is an unforgettable read, but this edition is loaded with typographical errors.

Great book!

A lot of spelling errors due to poor optical scanning. I appreciated the good translation and additional parts supposedly left out of other versions.
