Pretty entertaining yarn of the settling of the West, but overly full of philosifying, pontification, and name dropping. Really an over long short story.
One of Louis L’Amour’s best

Years ago, when I was a teenager, I discovered Louis L’Amour. I read and collected all his books. This one has always stood out in my mind as one of my favorites. Just finished rereading it and I know why it was one of my favorites. The wisdom and knowledge that is passed on is still so pertinent today. A person can learn a lot from this novel. I would recommend this as a definite read.
